  • MoT Exempt

This Old English White MGA has been family‑owned since 1998. The vendor's sister bought it during that year from a dealer in York. At that time, it needed work and ownership was passed to her father in 2002. He worked on it, with the assistance of a specialist mechanic, for 20 years. The car was driven every week in good weather and also used for local car and country shows. It was kept on a trickle charger when not in use.

The MG was registered in February 1960, making it a MkI 1600 version. As an historic vehicle, the MG no longer requires an MoT; its last one expired in August 2018. The odometer shows 99,425 miles.

A Sierra five‑speed gearbox has been fitted, and the rear brakes have been renewed. We're also told that there's a new cylinder head, unleaded fuel conversion, electronic ignition, electronic distributor and brake servo. The vendor recommends the car be run on Shell V‑Power (or equivalent) to combat fuel vaporisation when driven for long periods in hot weather. A rudimentary immobiliser switch is fitted as a anti‑theft device.

There's a large paperwork folder containing the current V5C plus past ones and a Northern Ireland logbook, and a great many photographs showing work being undertaken over the years. There are a lot of invoices from throughout the 21st century as well as MoT certificates from 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017. In addition, there's also a Morris Minor workshop manual ‑ just in case you have one of those as well ‑ as well as a classic car interior restoration guide, MGA Haynes workshop manual, parts catalogues, magazines, MG Owners' Club correspondence and an SU carburettor tuning guide.

A quantity of spares come with the car, which can be seen in the last photo of our gallery. They include two doors, chrome items etc.
